Wrapping up Christmas

I thought Christmas this year went off really well.

On the gift giving front, PJ was ecstatic about all the toys and games. Cyndi was happy with all her gifts (she is a hard one to shop for). And got everything I was hoping for.

Cyndi and I went a little nuts on each other, but we had fun. We rarely get a chance to shop for ourselves during the year, so the Holidays seems to be the time when we stock up for each other.

I completely busted Cyndi’s goal of having a plastic free holiday for PJ. With so much travel earlier this month, we didn’t get a chance to shop for “alternative” toys and games. Looking forward, we really hope to start rationing out the toys during the year and trying to shift toward more make believe play and games that we can play together.

For dinner, Cyndi decided she would cook this year, opting for a modest dinner for just the two of us. Everything came out great, but Cyndi has a tendency to get a little frustrated in the kitchen, following each recipe to the letter. All-in-all we had a great Christmas.

I’ve always loved this time of year, but to see it through PJ’s eyes makes it even more special. That that it is all over, I’m looking forward to the week of down time, catching up on a few things, seeing some movies and having lots of family time.
