PJ is totally enthralled with Electric Company episodes from the 70’s which we bought for her on DVD. In a very short time she has learned more about phonics and reading then all the other modern day kids programming combined. The concept of sketch comedy for kids is brilliant! It isn’t cheesy or hokey (except in that 70’s way), it is just simple and clever skits based around phonics and reading. I wonder if she is more into it because it is real people and not cartoons or 3D characters, which might explain the Barney, Teletubbies and Wiggles phenomenon, all shows we don’t allow in our home. I’m surprised no one has keyed in on the idea of more sketch comedy for kids.
