Tim Russert Dies at 58
Tim Russert died today of a sudden heart attack at 58. I am a big fan of Meet the Press and Tim’s. He always seemed to get the truth out of his guests but never once came off as rude or insincere.
Unlike any other on air personality I felt that Tim represented me, a member of the faceless public, with notable figures, asking the questions I would ask given the opportunity.
As I began to do more public speaking I looked to Tim as my primary source of inspiration on timing, pace and presence. I used him as the bar that I hope to one day achieve.
Watching Tim has been a Sunday morning ritual for me for many years, and while I never met the guy, I will miss my time with him every Sunday morning.
