AMC, the network responsible for Mad Men, is creating a miniseries based on my favorite TV show of all time, The Prisoner.

This is exciting news for a long time fan of the show. I always believed that it was ideal content to be remade for a modern audience.

But I have to say I’m a little sad by the news as I always had an ambition to create a feature-length film version of the series. I’ve been working on a script in my head for over ten years. It’s not like I have the time, money or filmmaking credibility to ever make such a film, but one can dream.

Patrick McGoohan, creator, producer, writer, director and star of the original series has been reluctant for years to make a feature film of the series. I’m curious how anyone finally got him to go ahead with the miniseries.
